Sam loves learning about emerging industries (such as cannabis, kratom, psilocybin, and nanoencapsulation), and he established himself as a leader in the third-party laboratory testing space. As the first/principal scientist, he led 3 California startup labs through the development of analytical test methods, ISO accreditation, and state cannabis licensing processes to operate as an authorized commercial laboratory. He also secured DEA licensing for one of those labs. 

Sam has extensive experience in GxP, to establish processes and workflows in compliance to state & federal regulatory requirements. He has written quality management systems and associated documentation (GDP). He has also established training regiments and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to ensure quality data reporting (GLP). He consulted with manufacturers to ensure homogeneity in production (GMP).

Sam comes from the small agricultural town of Watsonville, California, known as the strawberry capital of the world. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from University of California, Santa Barbara where he performed and published research on nano-electrical-mechanical-systems (NEMS).
